Is there a way out of endless hospitality/customer-facing circle?

Is having to deal with customers something that’s not working for you, or do you just want a 9-to-5 job in a supporting accountability? It makes a difference.

There’s no way to get away from dealing with guests if you work in a hotel. And you won’t get completely away from it as a business travel consultant, and certainly not as a reservationist. (I’m a bit of an introvert and let’s face it, that’s not always my favorite part of it. It doesn’t come naturally to me, I have to work at it. But it’s something I have to be able to do well at a certain level . . .)
Nor will, if you’re working in reservations, be limited to Monday through Friday 9 to 5 . . .
Getting your priorities in order will give you the key to what you need to do next. First decide if it’s the hours, or you’d like to deal with fewer customers who show up with a more limited scope of needs, or some combination of both and if so, how much of each.
The way to solve big problems that seem unsolvable is to break them down into smaller, more bite-size problems that are easier to manage.
